2-Inch Filter Holder & M42/M48/M54 Thread Adapter for Astrophotography
A versatile adapter for building astrophotography imaging trains.
Use it to connect equipment with common M42, M48 and M54 astronomy threads, or install a standard 2-inch mounted filter directly in the optical path.
It is especially useful when you normally image with the same filter, such as a UV/IR cut, light-pollution or dual-band filter. Instead of adding the cost and complexity of a filter drawer, simply install the filter and leave it in place.
The two-piece aluminum construction also provides useful thread-conversion options for connecting cameras, flatteners, reducers, spacers and other astronomy accessories.
This is a valuable accessory worth keeping in your astronomy adapter kit.
Highlights
- M42, M48 and M54 Thread Compatibility — connects common astrophotography cameras and accessories, replacing the need for multiple separate adapter rings.
- Holds Standard 2-Inch Mounted Filters — accepts any M48×0.75 filter, including UV/IR cut, dual-band and light-pollution filters.
- 21 mm Optical Length — a direct replacement for many standard 2-inch filter drawers without changing your imaging train spacing.
- Light-Tight by Design — no drawer, slot or side opening where stray light can enter.
- Two-Piece Machined Aluminum Construction — the M54 connection between sections provides additional configuration options.
- Compact and Lightweight — 59 mm outer diameter and only 72 g.
